CAGES² (2019)
public sound sculpture
CAGES² is the title of a public sound installation dedicated to the theme of rituals in public spaces.
The work consists of several metal cages attached to flagpole-like piles. The work is complemented by a sound composition (duration 1 year).

ORGAN² / ASLSP by John Cage serves as a model for the adaptation CAGES² presented in the sound installation, for cages and birdsong.
Speakers placed into the cages reproduce different sounds of extinct birds, their timing and frequencies are determined by a random composition as in the original. The resulting piece consists of 80 % silence.
